iSight In The Work Place And Security.

I just read the review of the MacBook Pro at Ars Technica and the reviewer
brings up a very important issue.

iSight will be banned in any work environment where security is a major concern.

While Boot Camp and Parallels finally makes it possible to run Windows on any Intel based Apple product, many enterprise IT buyers will not be able to recommend iMacs and MacBook Pros simply because of iSight and concerns
with security and industrial espionage.

I'm wondering if Apple offers an option to exclude iSight for large special orders?

No, it's just that Boot Camp lets these machines run Windows, which lets various customers consider them.

Many workplaces do not allow cameras of any kind on site, so the fact that it is off by default, and turns a light on when on, is little consolation.

This is a real problem with getting the new Macs into lots of places where they would do well. I hope at least the new PM replacements will be offered sans iSight.

I agree that it is a potential problem: my wife works for a company which doesn't allow cell phones with cameras (although USB key drives are OK). This rules her out for a MBP at work.

I tried to find a specific thread on this, thanks, but now when there is even more incentive to buy Apple products with dual boot capabilties, there must be a .gov mass buyer option or something if Apple wants those BIG enterprise IT bucks.
