I have Garage Band 3 in iLife '06 and am trying to record my voice, which I have never done before. iSight is hooked up and in iChat showing video and indicating that sound is picked up also. In GB3, I add a a Real Instrument track and press record but as I speak no graph lines for audio and nothing upon playbeck. Am I missing something?
Thanks.

I'm afraid you're out of luck. For some stupid reason your iSight records at 48 kHz, and GarageBand wants 44kHz.

The good news: don't use Garageband -- use a free program like Audacity to record your voice -- or use iMovies.

Now why Apple continues to have their iSight cameras not work with a vital component of iLife is beyond me. Or have they changed this? You can check it by going to the GarageBand preferences and check under Audio/Midi. If "iSight" is grayed out then you are out of luck.

Well it seems that they have changed it. And I actually figured it out on my own!!!!! - I went to GB Preferences and chose "sound" and selected the "audio-in" tab. There were two choices and the default was "audio line in". The other was "iSight", which I quickly changed to and as soon as I got back into GB it worked fine Thanks for the repliy and I hope this helps others out.
