I have a shiny new macpro 2x2.66 (for about a month)... no problems, except:

iSight does not seem to work with iCHat, Mostly, I've gottten error messages suggesting a communication error or bandwidth problem

Once, the camera feed gets through, I can hear my correspondant (one way video chat), they can see the feed, but cannot hear the iSight microphone feed (even though, in the system preferences dialog box, i can see levels that suggest the mic is working).

I've also got an external mic, and when i hook that into the audio input in the back of the machine, there is no evidence of operation at all, even when the audio line in is selected in preferences.

anyone seen anything like this?

thanks

I've had no problems with iSight on my 2.6 mac pro. I've only really used it with skype though, not ichat. I did just load up ichat and fiddled with the video prefs - but it seemed happy enough.

Are you experiencing the same problem when iSight is plugged into either of the macpro's firewire ports?

No audio in with external mic either.

I have had this problem with both my PowerBook G4 and now my MacPro 2 x 2.66. I can't find any other options or any reasons it just doesnt work. I have searched the internet and cant find anything other than this forum. I want to use a microphone for TeamSpeex but so far i cant.

I have the exact same problem, powerbook G4 and macPro. i have two microphones, neither works on either computer. If any solutions have been found, please post them here.
