I don't know if I'm reading this correctly, but of course you can use your ipod with the screen protector on. It wouldn't be very useful if you couldn't. The point of the screen protector is to protect the glass from being scratched and at the same time trying to make it look/feel like it's not there. I'd say try out the one that comes with it and if you don't like it then try another one. The screen protectors themselves are pretty cheap.
