I've been a user of Jaadu VNC for the iPhone for some time and love it's features for connecting to my Mac that's at home. How does iSSH for the iPad compare? From what I'm reading, it supports many more connection protocols then the new iPad version of Jaadu VNC (now called iTeleport).

I would like to hear some real world experience from people who have used both apps.

TIA!

I too would like to know, I've been reading up on iTeleport and was going pay the 25$ for it when i get my 3g.

I own the iTeleport for the iPhone and have used it since it was Jaduu. I honestly didn't pay 25$ for the iPhone version and got it on sale for 4.99. It works for all my needs.

I have both apps.

However, I purchased iSSH when it was only an SSH client and purchased iTeleport back in the Jaadu days when it was on sale as well.

I only used iSSH for SSH purposes. I'll test out the VNC aspect of it today though.

Another thing to note also is that iTeleport for iPhone is being updated to a free universal app for iPad http://www.iteleportmobile.com/upgrade

Consider desktop connect, too. It's only 12 bucks and it includes RDP support, which iTeleport for iPad currently does not have.

I use RealVNC at home due to the AES encryption and the free VNC viewer program on PCs, and bought the VNCViewer program for iphone. It works pretty good on iPad and developer has assured me that the iPad version will be out any day now and will be a universal binary.

After trying the VNC aspect of iSSH out I have to say iTeleport wins hands down.

The main thing I hate is with iSSH there is no smooth scrolling. You have to tap the screen where you want the mouse to go.

If you are VNC to a windows or linux machine probably not so much an issue, but on Mac doing tasks like bringing up the dock in my attempts has been unsuccessful.

As far as load time and render, it's comparable to iTeleport. The main issue I have is the control. Emergency yes, or until iTeleport updates to a universal app. But for regular usage I couldn't use iSSH as a VNC app.

For actual SSH though iSSH is hands down the best app I've ever used and highly recommend it for that feature. If I had to VNC into a server I'd also be great, but bottom line I don't think iSSH was ever meant to be a iTeleport
