I downloaded dragon age ulti from game tree and after I downloaded several time (what a pain) I can finally open it but it gives me a invalid check sum error. So far ea does not have a solution.

I've used activity monitor and stopped several programs. Rebooted, etc.

Anyone here have another idea?

Hi

For me that has always pointed towards the file downloaded being corrupt in some way.

I tried to move it to an sd card and it wouldn't move. Moved it to my firewire hd successfully though. But when the hard drive is connected to a macbook pro, and opened, it would give me the same error. Trying to dl the dmg file again. Even if this works, I'm not doing another dl from gametree again.

The amount of hours I have wasted on this stupid game. I should of just bought it for the ps3. Ea sucks.

A gal at gametree mac suggested that I use first aid and repair something. The file? The hard drive? Not sure. It's a brand new iMac so I don't know why I need to use first aid.

And insight?

It's a failed download. Ignore EA tech support. Redownload is a must.

I'd agree. Delete the downloaded files, then empty the cache on your browser (once right before quitting, once immediately after starting it again to be sure), then download the file again. Make sure it completely downloads. Sounds like the download got interrupted and wasn't able to resume.

I did verify like they said and it said that the disk was fine. So I'll re download it again. Any suggestions on how to minimize interruptions to the dl?

It gets better. The original file I downloaded was 14.7 GB. That gave me the error. The current file I am downloading is 13.4 GB. That actually opened and started the install, but froze a quarter of the way through. Any thing else I can check?

Had the same issue when I installed. IIRC I tried again with just using the default install location instead of choosing my own and that worked.

It's a brand new 3.4 imac with 1tb hd. Nothing that I've seen with first aid suggests that it is a hd problem.

I unplugged my external HD to see if I can install the dmg file on my macbook pro. It worked. I went ahead and tried to install the game on my imac. It worked. And the only thing I changed was to disconnect my firewire ext HD. Weird. It installed the dmg game file normally from that point on with no visible errors.

But now I can't get it to run the game. As soon as I hit play it gives me this error.
"Unhandled page fault on read access to 0x00000024 at address 0x0080f0f4.
Do you wish to debug it ?"
If I hit yes it quits, it I hit no it hangs.

Any thoughts?

I disconnected everything from cards to phones to drives to optical disks. Reinstalled the game. rebooted. And for some strange reason it worked. Now I'm afraid to plug in my phone for a recharge. lol.

I have no clue what happened, but it worked. Fyi to anyone that finds this thread from a search engine.
