I am using OpenCore 0.8.0 with Monterey 12.3.1 on my cMP5,1. I have had unlock with Apple Watch enabled in Mojave, Catalina, Big Sur and Monterey but am having issues with it no longer fully working in Monterey. It is a recent occurrence and I believe this behavior started with the 12.3 upgrade but am not certain.

Symptoms:
  1. When I attempt to unlock my cMP I see the "Unlocking with Apple Watch..." appear, then after a short while the "spinner" appears in front of "Unlocking" and then after another short while the password prompt reappears and the "Unlocking" message goes away. There is no error displayed as sometimes happens indicating a communication issue with wifi/bluetooth and the Apple Watch.
  2. When unlocking a locked panel in System Preferences the unlock dialog appears with the button "Use Password..." and I feel a Haptic Touch on my watch but do not get the double tap side button dialog and have to use my password to unlock System Preferences.

So it would appear that unlock with Apple Watch is trying to work but is failing. I would also say that I have had issues before that were always fixed by signing in and out of iCloud and/or deactivating and reactivating the unlock with Apple Watch setting.

Has anyone else noticed any similar issues? I am using a fairly basic config.plist based on the @cdf 's manual process. Are there any settings that might influence unlocking with Apple Watch? Everything else about continuity seems to be working fine - the Universal Clipboard, iMessage in the cloud, etc. Any other thoughts?

My Apple Watch unlock stopped working on my 12 cores MP 2012 after I upgraded OC from 0.79 to OC 0.80 and Mac OS 12.4 beta… it was working fine on 0.79…
I tried to disabled it in the security preferences to enable it again but no success. Same after a reboot, PRAM and NVRAM reset but nope… I’ll let you know if I find a solution ??

Thanks for the idea - it could have been 0.8.0. I'll try booting with 0.7.9 and see if it is any better.

UPDATE: I booted with OC 0.7.9 and signed out and into iCloud and Apple Watch unlock seems to be working now. I'll test some more. If you can confirm the same thing we can file a bug report in the OC github.

I’ll reinstall my OC 0.79 to test it, just need to find my backup config as I have a thunderbolt card config to load too ? I need about 15 minutes ?
