Has anyone else experienced any issues with this "promotion"? Apple advertises both $150 savings AND an Apple Gift Card. I've been an Apple Fanboy since before the launch of OSX. My family currently has FOUR Apple silicone laptops, four iPhones, and one pro iPad. Previously, we've owned two towers, and a few iMacs as well as another laptop and previous versions of iPhones. And virtually every purchase coincided with the Apple Education promotion they launch in the summers.

That all ended yesterday. I'm stunned frankly.
My experience involved five Apple Support individuals. All five understood my position. They were patient and courteous. But unable to resolve my problem. Bottom line? I feel as though I was ripped off for $150.

Never again.

Shame on Apple.

Not good.

Anyone else experience this with last summer's "promotion"?

FYI: Issue with Apple re: Summer Promotion Savings was also posted on Apple Insider.

Apple never offered a $150 discount plus a $150 gift card. Just the card.

Terms & conditions are here - you pay for the product, which shows a $150 discount to account for the gift card, and you pay for the gift card. If the product is returned, the gift card remains active - which is why the discount.

Bottom line, you pay the going rate for the device, and you get both the device and the gift card. The discount is simply accounting.

...The promotion runs through September 30 in the U.S., according to Apple's terms and conditions. The free gift card is in addition to Apple's standard educational discounts of around 5% to 10% off most Macs and iPads
