My iMac keeps asking me to force quit applications because I am running out of application memory, though I don't think my usage is particularly intensive. Is there any way to resolve this?

What Mac do you have?
What year was it made?
How much RAM is installed?

When it happens, open Activity Monitor and under the Memory tab see what process is using your memory up.

I think it has to do with a bug in Sonoma with the wallpaper extension, so I just turned that off and so far, everything seems to be behaving properly

So, you located a bug in Sonoma?
Or did you read somewhere that someone speculated about this?
If so, can you post a link?

I mean, I don't know if it is actually a bug. But I happened to see it online with other people complaining about the same issue, so I just turned it off and it seemed to be resolved.
