I have 2 of these. Playing battlefield Los angeles, the movie plays fine on one ATV, the other, the voice is skipping real bad. Have watched this movie before on it but this just started. Ripped with hand break. All other movies work great. Have reset it. Still same issues. Thinking it's the beginning of it's death. Any suggestions besides reripping it?

Is it synced or streamed from the Mac? Try streaming and see if it's better (you'll have to turn off sync for that movie to remove it from the device's HD). If it's stored on the ATV, it might be a sign of the HD going.

Replacing the drive isn't too difficult, and there are tools available to help rebuild the unique partitions on it. I've done it manually a couple of times, using command line tools. I found AtvCloner, but haven't tried it yet. (The previous times were to upgrade the drive to 160GB (from 40GB), then to replace it when it was failing - and took the opportunity to upgrade again to 250GB.)

Should have mentioned. Streaming from my win7 PC. Weird that it worked a couple weeks ago and it plays fine on another atv1. Thinking it's a sign it's getting ready to die a slow death. Was hoping a atv3 would be out soon.
