On the iTunes music store I recently bought a compilation, a/k/a "Complete Collection" of my favorite band's music. 21 albums worth of material, and when looking at the breakdown on the store prior to purchase, each album was broken up and there was the correct album art next to each one. Basically, it looked like purchasing it would be a more cost effective bundle that purchasing the individual albums, but I would obtain all albums (as is the common functionality with movie bundles on the iTunes store).
Unfortunately, the purchase puts everything under a single album artwork for the Complete Collection, making it nearly impossible to easily find certain songs, and Siri isn't much help (to the extent it ever was) because there are several versions of some songs, both live and studio (again, this is a 21 album complete collection).
So now I have this pricy purchase with music I want to keep but I want to change the metadata such that I can delineate the 21 separate albums and artwork. From what I can gather so far, the nature of it being an iTunes purchase isn't allowing me to do that, even on a locally downloaded version. Any thoughts? Would breaking DRM through a thiry party app play a role here? Just looking to be able to sort the purchased content by its respective album instead of a forced collection set. TIA.
