Issue with HDMI output?

I have the most recent base model Mac Mini that I've been lovingly using as a HTPC. I run everything through it using a HDhomerun setup. I've never had an issue then I updated to El Capitan. Now I'm having an issue that has rendered it completely useless and I'm not sure if it's the software or not. I have the Mini connected to my Yamaha receiver via HDMI then the receiver goes to the TV. My screen is solid pink and there is nothing I can do about it. I've reset and unplugged it several times, let it sit all last night unplugged, and when I go to boot it up I can see the apple logo behind a pink haze then it goes completely pink again. I can hear the keyboard from the login screen making noises but can't see anything.

My TV is a 1080p TV is it possible the mini has some issue with the resolution? I have an Xbox one as well that is connected to the receiver and it's crystal clear. I swapped HDMI cables with the xbox and still the Pink Screen.

Can anyone give me any ideas? I don't have an external monitor but really want this issue to get fixed. It worked well for months then all the sudden I updated and BOOM. Anyway to completely reset it back to the original software?

It may be an HDCP issue. Did you ever have the issue with Yosemite? When you reset, make sure to power-down and unplug the HDTV and the Yamaha, too.

James thank you for the response. I had no known issues with Yosemite except that every once in awhile it'd need a reboot to freshen things up.

Is there a process to resetting it? I literally unplugged the power cable from the back and it sat for hours like that before plugging it in this morning. Are you saying I should turn it off then back on with no cables plugged into it at all? With the unit going into the Yamaha receiver only what is the benefit to unplugging the TV?

On an even crazier note is there a way to access the Mac mini from a tablet, other mac, or phone like a remote desktop where maybe I could connect remotely and see what's going on? Unfortunately I don't have a means to get past the boot screen since it's completely pink.

I tried everything here in disconnecting it all and I'm still getting a pink screen that I can't see anything on
