Issue with iBook in IOS 12

Bought a iBook called Jesus the Evangelist and no matter how much I read on my iPad it still says NEW on it and does not give me a percentage of complete like all other iBooks. I have this issue on my iPad with this 1 iBook ONLY but NOT on my iPhone. Its often pointless to read on the phone due to the smaller screen than the iPad. Anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this? Its annoying and probably another iOS 12 bug of which there are lots.

Mmm not sure as iBooks just deletes mine, no matter what I do.

This 1 iBook is not syncing to my iPhone for some strange reason. All other iBooks sync just fine and I have 103 of them.
