My sisters MBP 2017 13" the screen freezes from time to time, also my 2019 MBP 16" does the samething. Now, if I let it sit for 5-10 mins. it clears. There are times it doesn't clear so a force power off is required. It freezes in too many sites including macrumours.
My sister's thought will not clear at all if frozen. She has to force a power off. Wait 5-10 mins then power on and it will be fine until the next freeze. Her battery is also acting up. If she moves it to the living room the battery drains very fast. It needs to be plugged in to work for any length of time. Anyone else experienced this or both issues?
Thinking up upgrading to new MBA or MBP when the M3 chips come out. My sister will probably go to MBA. Anyone else experienced this issue?

a couple of things you could try …
reset SMC
download and run kext utility
Kext Utility
[despite what the site says it does work with later macOS]

Thanks for the replies. I tried both of the suggestions. Will just wait and see. The issue is intermittent so when and if it happens again. I will update the post.
