Hi

I have an issue with notes since upgrading to el capitan.

My wife and i sync a list of wedding bookings for our business between ourselves which is stored on my apple id as i use it on my iphone, macbook pro and iMac. She adds my apple id as a separate account to her iphone and sync's the note. This worked fine on yosemite.

Since upgrading to el capitan she can see my notes in the old style on her iPhone but any changes she makes no longer sync to my iCloud account. There is no option to upgrade to the new style of notes for my apple id on her phone but if she adds notes to her own apple id these are in the new format.

It looks like apple have broken note synching between apple id's which worked fine, unless there is a way to force upgrade to the new note format that we are missing?

Any help would be appreciated as this is quite a big issue for us.

Thanks

Either both upgrade to new format or use other notes.
It's impossible to downgrade to older version of notes on an iCloud account.
By the way, you can choose not to upgrade when getting in touch with notes at the first time.

Have no solution to your problem, but... Why share an Apple ID to begin with? You can simply publish a 'shared' calendar (which you can both edit from your own devices).

My wife and I have completely separate Apple IDs (iCloud accounts) with our own calendars, but we share a 'Family' calendar that we can both edit on any of our Macs and iOS devices under our own ID. This is exactly what you appear to be doing, you're just taking the long hard road to do it.

It's probably my poor explanation but we do have our own apple id on our own devices.

My wife adds my apple id as a second account under accounts in settings and only sets it to sync notes. The calendar etc is shared as you suggested already, it's only notes thats done in this way as it cannot be setup to share like a calendar.

The first reply states to upgrade notes but there is no option to. It simply has defaulted to the old note style on my account on my wife devices (it's fine on mine). There would be no issue if we could.

Oh. I don't know if family sharing could solve your issue. You can try.
