Has anyone seen an issue like this? n some games it looks like the models aren't being filled. It is kind of hard to explain, here is a screen shot:

You can see outlines and everything moves fine, but all is dark. This is from Sleeping Dogs and I've also had the problem with Hand of Fate. For the game Human Fall Flat, it isn't dark like this but the models are filled with static.

Feral support said:
"From the looks of the information I suspect the issue you are having is due to the use of the Nvidia web drivers with this game.

We develop and test our games using the built-in macOS drivers so I'm afraid this is not a setup we support. We can only suggest using the built-in video card drivers on a Mac that meets the minimum system requirements."

I have a feeling there isn't a solution for this, but thought a post here might get lucky.

I'm using a Mac Pro 4,1 ->5,1 with a Nividia GeForce GTX 760 2GB.

What OS version and NVIDIA web driver version are you using? Really hard to know what the issue is without more information.

Sorry. 10.12.6 and 378.05.05.25f04

Interestingly, I just booted using the OS X default driver and the game looks fine.

Is your GPU GTX 670 (post title) or GTX 760 (text reference)? Flashed or not?

As long as the game isn't using CUDA, you should be fine with the default driver. There's an issue with High Sierra & CUDA not recognizing the default driver with the latest update. Not sure if that also impacts Sierra.

*Sigh* Sorry, it is a 760, I'm always swapping the two numbers. Not flashed.

The issue with two of the games has been going on for quite some time, long before the latest updates. I never looked into it before because they were bundle games and I didn't care enough at the time.

You are running an old OS and an out-of-date driver. Any issues in the 10.12 web drivers will never be fixed. If you're running the web driver, you should always be on the latest OS to ensure you are using the most up-to-date drivers.

i dont think any games use CUDA?

with my GTX 660 & my 770 the nvidia drivers just give me problems and the osx driver works better.

i see not real FPS gain from last time i checked but i did get random crashes from the nvidia drivers in some games

I haven't updated to High Sierra because, correct me if I am wrong, bootcamp wont recognize APFS and you can't boot back into OS X without holding the option key at startup, which wont work with my video card.

You have few options.

1) BootChamp + SIP disabled
2) Boot into recovery partition to pick your next boot partition (work with any OOTB card.)
3) Pick a 10.12.6 of later HFS+ partition to boot, and then further pick HS as next boot partition.
4) Install / clone HS onto a HFS+ partition, and don't use APFS.

I am using option 1 at this moment. works pretty well.

Doesn't bootchamp just run under OS X? How does it help me get out of Windows and back into a APFS boot? I have been using it for a while now to boot into Windows and I leave my startup drive set to OS X, so any restart from Windows goes Mac.

Doesn't change the fact you're running a legacy OS with out of date drivers. If you are experiencing issues with the 10.12 web drivers, be prepared for the fact that they will never ever be fixed. NVIDIA only updates drivers for the most recent OS version (10.13 in this case).

That's exactly why it can work, because it only work (and only need to work) in MacOS.

It will reboot your Mac to Windows, and automatically go back to MacOS on the next boot (if you don't disturb it. e.g. select another boot partition inside Bootcamp apps. Or remove the MacOS hard drive etc).

Anyway, I mean you can use BootChamp as work around, but not use BootChamp to "fix" your next boot if you are already in Windows.

wow i did not know that APFS was a pain, still on osx10.12
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208123

but as h9826790 says to if you want to boot from osx to windows bootchamp is fine and next time you restart you just pop back to osx from windows.

if you do get stuck in windows just shutdown and do a smc reset to get back to osx.

but cant you just install osx10.13 on a HFS+ volume? then it's a mute problem (i dont want to upgrade yet so i cant test it, but https://malcont.net/2017/09/how-to-...sierra-without-filesystem-change-hfs-to-apfs/ looks like you can)

ops, yep that PRAM
(i had a 50/50 go at being on the ball and i drooped it :D)
