Hi guys,

I have an issue with this new feature to make the WiFi address private. First of: In my router, the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi networks are separate (separate SSIDs).

Prior to enabling the private addresses: Each iPhone had 1 MAC address in the router network overview (regardless of whether it was connected to the 2.4 or 5 GHz network, it was the same)

After enabling the private addresses: Depending on the network (2.4 or 5 GHz) every iPhone has 2 MAC addresses (2 new ones). So far, so good (I think that's supposed how it works). After this I deleted the old entries from my router's network overview.

Issue: Sometimes the old MAC addresses apparently come up again because then I see additional entries in my router network overview. Then I delete them and then they come back again a few weeks later.

Anyone else also noticed this?

PA didn't work with my router, had trouble with VPN. Bought a newer version of same wifi 6 and it's fine. I only enable and use 5.0Ghz - for everything. TVs, PC, and phones. My older iPhone X use to have trouble, also erratic download speeds, disconnects (,seemed common for router I was using). Not ideal or something most people would do but I depend on 24/7 uptime.
Restarting modem and router was getting to be a pain. That's gone.

It's main use I'd for public WiFi.

Why is it an issue, stop looking for them. You don’t need to remove them from the routing tables, won’t cause any issues at all. Don’t worry about it

Yup, that's true. It's not really a big deal but I was just wondering why these keep showing up.

Turn off private address for your own router - you know it's you, and where you are, so unless you want to hide your own device from other people who have admin access to your own router, it's not needed.

I'm like you - I like having a fixed IP address on my own network (which my router allocates to me based on my MAC addr), and "private address" meant I kept getting new ones.
