I was wondering if anyone else has been experiancing issues after upgrading to the new firmware. my friend told me that her phone would freeze up, the touch screen would not respond, and it wouldnt allow her to shutdown. I have her a hard time telling her is was the user not the phone. Then last night the exact same thing happend to me. I would like to know if anyone else is having the same issues.

With my 7 series I have experienced no issues upgrading to 1.1.1, in fact my phone is the most stable it has ever been. After the 1.1.1 upgrade did not make my speaker phone usable I went to the store and had it replaced. My original was a 5 series and would lock up every once in awhile and my 7 series has had no problems.

I am not sure, if you mean 7 series cause your phone serial number starts with a 7 so does mine. My screen locked up again, when I went to send an SMS the screen where the keyboard would be slid up but no keyboard just black screen and it froze up til i restarted.

some other glitches...

I too am not sure what you mean by "7 series"
my phone's serial number also starts with a "7" does that make it 7 series?

on to other glitches...
Since the 1.1.1 update I have had most noticably much diminished battery life. down from around 6 or 7 hours of general use, to as little as 3 hours of the same type of use (some internet, some email, some music, some calling).

I have also noticed that sometimes, and NOT when I'm using my iPod funtion, I will see the play icon on the home screen (up next to the battery icon). This is to signify that something is playing in the iPod function, yes? Well this happens to me every once and a while and always when I'm NOT using the iPod. Anybody get that one? to get rid of it I go into the iPod and start/stop a song, that cures it, but does that mean that something is playing in the background that shouldn't be? could this have something to do with the slacking battery?

I have also had a few scattered screen freezes or lockups, but nothing that can't be fixed by rebooting.

I have tried, on the advice of the Apple folks, to restore my iPhone, which I've done. It seems to have made no difference in the battery life. Does anybody out there have a similar problem with waning battery life since the 1.1.1 update?

my phone was definitely MORE stable before the 1.1.1 update.

After the 1.1.1 update, my safari would randomly crash and return to the home screen, this is completely random, as I have not been able to duplicate it exactly.

Sometime it just doesn't feel as snappy as when it was in 1.0.2

When this happens to me, and it does, I get the play indicator in the menu without anything actually playing. I have to start/stop the iPod to get ride of it.

I have the same thing happen to me, but not when Safari crashes. It will just happen randomly for seemingly no apparent reason. Could this be
something else running in the background (other than the iPod)? and could this have something to do with the reduced battery life?

If my battery is going down now, what will happen when Apple adds all the wonderful things they are supposed to add? Could this be the reason they didn't come out with them all in the beginning? cuz the battery tests would have shown really crappy run times??

I keep getting the play icon too. And my battery seems weaker. Twice now it has died overnight from a half charged battery. Something in the update is running in the background.

I swapped out at an apple store less than an hour ago.

[note. I did have installer.app installed b4 the update]

My issues since upgrading to 1.1.1 have been:

--HORRIBLE speeds getting in to the SMS area... It will pull up what looks like the ichat window, only to have it sit there for 5-6 seconds. I usually delete any convos that get too full, so I know it isn't an issue of too many convo's in the window.

--Touch screen responsiveness. I feel that I have to be a lot more precise on where I touch, as well as touching for longer. I clean my screen daily, if not more.

--Assigned ringtone. Sometimes if someone calls where I have assigned a specific, Apple issues ringer, it won't ring with that ringer. Only the default. I then have to go into said contact, and verify the ringer is set, and then test it, to get the functionality back.

--A LOT of crashes when emailing photos from either the camera, or the photo albums. I can take a picture, and email it... New mail message will close, camera or album will crash, then I'll hear the "swoooosh!" of the outgoing mail message.

--I never receive MMS messages like I used to. Out of 10 messages sent to me, I would get all of them... Now, I only get about 2 out of those 10. A major pain!

--I also get that little play icon in the upper right. It's a pain in the a$$.

Nothing else.

Issues

I am having some really bad issues.. I never noticed it in 1.0.2 firmware. I own the 4gb iphone. So, here's where it starts... When I listen to music, some songs stop playing for a couple seconds and the switch to the next song. Safari, I am browsing facebook or doing anything really on safari and it will quit, or sometimes it will do a full reset... Opening my settings, sometimes it opens and stay open or sometimes it will close repeatedly. Sometimes while plugged into the charger, it will reset as well. Youtube, while watching videos it will crash or reset as well. What is the deal? Does anyone else get these many problems? Anything I do will cause it to reset. I've tried restoring and everything. Any ideas?

I cant locate it on the iPhone or through my computerr. I have lost a business email (job offer) and a School email (review for test) it is pissing me off. anyone else have this issue?

alright after further study here is what happens:

iPhone side
Ill get an email in my yahoo account
I move it to a subfolder

Computer side
I can see the message in my subfolder after move.

I'll beable to see message and interact with it on phone and on computer.

iPhone
after a few days il will get another message and tranfer the 2nd message to the same folder as the first message. This will cause the first one to be deleted from both iPhone and computer with no record of email message at all. anyone else notice this???
