Hi all
Hope I am doing this right and not repeating someone else’s post.
I recently upgraded my iMac 2017 21.5” with new ram, an SSD hard drive and a new CPU.
I have built my own PC before but never done repairs on apple products.
Long story short… the first time I booted it made the chime sound but no display. The second time I booted it went all the way to the login screen but it had a single bar down the screen. I was super excited. I didn’t change anything but I turned it off and plugged in a keyboard and mouse. Back to no display but just a chime.
I know this is hard as I have changed so many variables at once but would love some advice if possible on what is wrong. I didn’t think I tugged on any display cables.
Really hopeful I have not completely ruined my display or worse still done damage to the graphics card. I used Arctic Ice Thermal Pads on each VRAM modules for the graphics card.
Suggestions would be so greatly appreciated!
Thank you in advanced.
