Last week I bought the Mac version of the DLC for Supreme Commander 2. I had a problem getting the DLC to work so I thought I would share what happened in case anyone else ran into this.

First off I bought Supreme Commander 2 from Deliver2Mac not long after it was released. I downloaded the .dmg, copied the game to my Games folder and registered the game with Steam. At this point I was able to play the game.

When I bought the Infinite War Battlepack from Deliver2Mac I was given a registration code and the email said that it would automatically download once I registered it with Steam. When I did this the DLC was not downloaded to my computer.

After opening a support ticket with Steam here is what the issue was. Apparently sometime after I bought Supreme Commander 2, Steam gained the ability to install the Mac version of the game through the Steam Client. Since I had installed Supreme Commander 2 from a .dmg file the Steam Client wouldn't download the DLC. So the solution was to install a second copy of the game through Steam, then the DLC was included.

At this point I deleted the first copy of Supreme Commander 2.
