Guys,

has anyone else experiences any of the following issues on a clean El Capitan install:
  • iCloud account was listed twice in Contacts (MacBook)
  • Notification Center was blank instead of showing notifications (Retina iMac)
  • Finder windows were cut off on top, hiding some of the top sidebar items and window contents (Retina iMac)
  • Reminders with long subject names don’t get properly displayed in Today view (widget)
  • FaceTime (Video) calls disconnect as soon as person on other end picks up
I have screenshots of some of the issues on this post. Can't believe Apple would be shipping 10.11 with those issues, so I'm thinking it's somehow related to my setup.

Cheers
Michael

Separate questions.

Is the GM the final version for shipping? I mean is it the same version the consumer sees so it won't have the feedback tools etc?

I'm having the same issues with iCloud contacts and Facetime calls.
It's been like that since before the GM tough for me.

Most often it is - but there have been cases where Apple released a second GM before making the software available to the public.

I'm getting freezes with spinning beach-ball every 10-30 minutes of use. The only way out is a hard-restart. I've reported to Apple via the Bug Reporter at least 40 times with log dumps and their only response was to have me try a Safe Boot...and no, it didn't happen then.

I'm this close to trashing a very nice Macbook Pro Retina 15" 2014 and getting a Dell....

Can't reorder spotlight search results. Don't know if this is a bug per se, but it is very annoying.

Most beach-ball issues I had were related to a faulty hard disk or a corrupted install. I'd re-install a clean copy - maybe even on an external drive you can boot from and if that doesn't solve it get your MacBook replaced, assuming you have AppleCare.

Good luck!

At this point, it doesn't matter. The final release is this coming week. You'll be better off waiting for the final version—because it has been updated since the GM.

Did you do a clean install or an upgrade? the reason I ask is that I did a clean install (created book stick, format drive then install) and haven't experienced the issues you've listed.

Clean install...

Interesting - sounds like the common thread is the video card because neither my iMac or MacBook Pro are having the same problem; possibly something to do with the video card driver? changes to the graphics underpinnings that is causing problems? I guess it is a matter of reporting and hoping that'll eventually get addressed.

One other thing that really annoys me, that I haven't seen much talk about, but reported to Apple:
When you have Safari in full screen, and then watch a video in full screen. Click ESC to exit full screen, and the animation will bring you to your common finder space, before it goes back to full screen Safari.
Anybody else seeing this?

You have a hardware or software problem. Your experience is not typical of what the rest of us are seeing. You need to do or have someone do diagnostics on your machine.

According to my contact at the Apple Business team, it's a known issue. No ETA on fix.

So you're complaining about an issue that you already know that Apple knows about?

Well, I didn't learn it was a known issue until after I "complained". And this may come as a surprise to you, but stuff keeps changing almost every day. Yesterday for instance I learned that the latest public beta of OS X 10.11.1 seems to have fixed the problem, at least on my iMac.

Cheers
