So I'd like to know if anyone else has experienced this issue at all. I cannot renew my Apple Music Family subscription and this issue is very frustrating.

I was told that my old iPhone 6+ (which I sold to Gazelle) is flagging my account as fraudulent since . I keep getting the same answer that Apple is "escalating my issue" but I haven't really gotten anywhere in terms of getting a good resolution.

Last month I was able to get a quick fix and renew for one month, but then the same date rolled around again and now I can't renew once again. I did everything that Gazelle suggested in terms of wiping the phone of my data but I don't get how it would block my current access. Anyone have any suggestions?

Side note.... I'm never, ever selling my phone again... GIANT PITA.

how is the iphone 6+ flagging it your account as fraudulent? it shouldn't be in any way linked to you at all if you've wiped it correctly and sold it..

is there more to the story you're skipping out for ease? detail is king.

Unfortunately there really isn't much else to this story.... I have not gotten a straight answer from Apple as to why my account is being flagged after I had already wiped the old phone. They told me that since I initiated the subscription on that device it seemed to be linking back to that even though I had wiped everything correctly. And I guess there is a security measure in place that Apple has that won't let me renew this subscription and someone has to manually check my account or something. I don't know... I find this whole thing very odd myself.

That's really the only part I left out minus the fact that I called/emailed/chatted Apple a bunch about this issue.

It strikes me as really odd.

Had you definitely completely wiped the device correctly? Is it gone from your iCloud account, for example?

It shouldn't be linked in any way to any device, simply your Apple ID.

Yeah I completely wiped it and it does not show up at all on my iCloud account whatsoever. Even my Apple Support Profile I checked and its gone there too. And that is what sounds odd to me too, and for whatever reason they cannot explain "for security reasons" exactly what is going on, yet my account is being flagged by their automatic security protocols.... I just don't get it.
