I'm having a weird issue as I type sometimes where the keys seem to duplicate/repeating keystrokes the typing as I write. It's happened on both the built-in keyboard on my 2019 Macbook Pro as well as my blue tooth magic keyboard 2 (both wired and wirelessly). Any thoughts?

This This is an example of what occurs randomly as I typ type. Sometimes it's several letters, sometimes it's just one or two. And sometimes nothing happens at all when I''m trying to show the issue... For some reason I can't get it to happen when I want it to and it seems to happen frequently when I'm 'm just typing normally. Hopefully someone understands what I'm 'm showing and can help. I've indicated when this has occurred as I type typd this paragraph to hopefully illustrate the issue.

Using the latest beta of Catalina on a 2019 Macbook Pro.

No No one else has this issue? The he typing duplication is killing me.... It seems completely random. Sometimes happening every couple of words. Other times it seems not to occur for several minutes. It's driving me insane... of course it doesn't seem to show up nearly as often when I'm 'm trying to show it.

I downloaded this and it seems to help a little bit but the issue still comes and goes. Hope this gets fixed soon though. Frustrating composing emails and other daily tasks...
I think its a hardware issue, and a pretty common one. Apple even has a repair program for it, covering the MacBook keyboards, so if you have one that's doing this you can always bring it in and they should repair it for free (if covered) if its indeed a hardware problem. You can check to see if your device is eligible here https://support.apple.com/keyboard-service-program-for-mac-notebooks

The thing is, it's not happening only on my macbook keyboard. i primarily use a magic keyboard when working at my desk and plug the mac into a dock.

Yeah that is strange. Maybe grab a cheap generic keyboard and see if that one works? That will tell you if it's a faulty keyboard problem, or a bug in Catalina.

Hi! I can confirm this happens to me on my Magic Keyeboard connected to my 27" 5K iiMac.

I am certain this is not a hardware issue, as I didn't have any issues typing before I upgraded to Catalina. Plus, a hardware issue wouldn't cause things like whole word repeating, or a keyboard shortcut getting fired twice in a row ((for example I hit CMD+X to cut a text snippet, but the bug fires the shortcut again, with a result of an empty clipboard)..

Every typo in this comment is caused by the bug. And there are not that many, which is funny as it's always like this for me: whenever I want to show a bug I''m experiencing, everything seems to work fine.:D

My girlfriend is having this same issue with her 2013 MBP 15". No clue what's causing it, but it's only since installing Catalina.

It's another ****** bug on Catalina. Any bluetooth device goes into 3 second lag after coming back from sleep. Don't bother asking Apple support. They've told me several times that my hardware needs firmware updates (Magic keyboard and mouse lol) and my perfectly fine RAM was faulty. There's no solution, Apple fecking sucks these days.
