I’ve been trying to pay my T-Mobile bill for the past two months in store at T-Mobile to take advantage of the 3% cashback

every time I try to use a contact less payment the system always throws an error. Is anyone else having this issue?

So Calif
I am using Apple Card to pay the monthly T Mobile bill and still shows as 1%.

Shouldn't it be 3% due to an agreement with GS and T Mobile ??

No, which is why OP is trying to go into a store to get the announced 3% (intended more for phone etc. purchases I'd guess)

I've tried using Apple pay multiple times in the past few years at the TMobile store and it has never worked.

That’s what I’m assuming. I think it’s for phone purchases etc.

Have you had any luck with this? I've tried like 5-6 different T-mobile stores and I keep getting that error message every time. I am gonna go ahead and assume T-mobile does not want to give you 3% back on your bill.... which is pretty crappy.. if you announce 3% back why limit it to only certain in store transactions.

Nope. I’m gonna agree with you. Tmobile doesn’t want you to get 3% back on bills. Gonna complain to t-force

I definitely would not recommend Apple Card for cell phone services. Go with Chase Ink Business Cash card:
  • You don't have to have a business license. Just use your SSN to apply and self-employed as business.
  • Your personal credit score will show the initial credit inquiry, but the credit line and balance will never be included with your personal credit score. The business card will only show as a business credit score.
  • You get 5% cash back for phone and internet services up to a max of $25K spend per year. Yes, I've even purchased phones through TMobile and got 5% cash back.
  • Other verified 5% cash back - my monthly Xfinity bill and purchases from Office Depot and Staples.

For what it's worth, T-Mobile might have an issue with contactless Mastercard transaction on their terminals as I've used American Express and Discover cards in the past and it seemed fine (Amex being about six months ago, Discover being a looooooong time ago when they were offering the 10% back with Apple Pay transactions). Jimmy John's had this problem with a handful of their terminals and people started noticing when the Apple Card rolled out (any card but a Mastercard worked fine...the new terminals fixed it.)
