i remember from 2009 imacs every day we had a new post about a yellow screen issue and some other issues as well.

i would like to know what is the experience of people who just received their 2010 imac so far regarding these issues ? did any one replaced their imac 2010 for any reason?

over 10% people still reporting yellow tint?

Me thinks the numbers are different for each iMac size. re: Cannot apply the same number across both sizes. I also think this poll lacks the details of "other problems" as well. For example, DOA boxes, damaged stands (from abusive shipping), loud HDD sounds, lack of sound, etc. etc. Thus, I'm not too sure if (for example, 25%) is the true number or yellow screens or if that number is for percentage of machines that are NOT perfect.

To me, this stat number includes problems in other areas as well. And I suspect most of these problems are from "abusive" shipping process. re: I know 5 folks who visited their local Apple Store and bought "off the shelf". Their machines are perfect. Probably because lack of abusive shipping to their front door. But that's could be my "inner voice" reaching for reasons why the "NOT PERFECT" stats are so high.

Hope this helps as well...

Preparing for Purchase - Readying for Problems

I'm just a few days from ordering the 27" i7 Quad and I have a question about the wisdom of purchase from a non-Apple source seeing there "may" be problems with a screen.

I can get this unit fro MacMall for $50 cheaper than Apple as well as saving the sales tax. So that's my plan. And yes, that couple hundred dollars is BIG to me.

So...if there is a problem with the screen...is it going to be a giant hassle to deal with the vendor (MacMall) rather than directly with Apple? Too much hassle? Do replacements and such flow as easily with vendors as they seem to with Apple themselves?

Thanks.
