Hi All,

Hopefully someone here has some clue as to how I can fix this.

I upgraded to iTunes 7.7.1 this morning and now I'm having issues with my 2nd gen Nano. I docked the iPod and iTunes opened did a sync, however, the screen on the nano never lit up. Not even the "do not disconnect" screen.

iTunes finished it's sync and i disconnected the iPod. But now when I try to turn it on all I get is a BLANK screen. No menu, no play list... nothing. Then it just turns off.

I did a reset of the ipod, got the apple logo, and after a mintue or so everything was back to normal. However, if the iPod shuts off... I get the blank screen all over again when I try to turn it back on. It has a full battery and was working/docked/synced just fine yesterday PRIOR to 7.7.1.

Any ideas what is causing this? I'm pretty tech savvy but this one has me stumped. :(

Oh yea, forgot to mention that my iPhone has no issues with 7.7.1, only the Nano.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for your reply. I was hoping to avoid having to downgrade iTunes. I'm very careful with my nano and I've never had a problem with it until today. I don't even use it that much because I have my iPhone as well as another iPod.

I docked it using 7.7 yesterday and it was working just fine. After installing 7.7.1 today is when the problem started. If I reset it (toggle hold, menu + select) everything is cool too. Screen comes up and I can play anything. But once it shuts off it goes right back to a blank screen. I shouldn't have to keep resetting it for it to turn on.

I just tried to do a restore back to factory settings as well and the same thing happens. It restores, everything plays and is visible. But yet again once it powers off and I try to turn it back on... blank, blank, blank.

Anyone know why the screen is blank when it powers up, but seems to work fine after are reset/restore?

Is there a link for the previous version? 7.7.0?
