Issues with rewind/fast forward

Finally got my ATV2 jailbroken with xbmc but i'm having issues with the rewind and fast forward using the remote. My friend is using his harmony remote, he said it works but i'd like to get the remote working. I've tried holding the menu button while streaming to get to the side panel menu, when I try fast forwarding there the time moves ahead but when I hit play it just continues and doesn't actually go ahead.

Any solutions? Anyone else have this problem?
