Issues with sound on my Mac Mini.

I recently bought some speakers for my Mac Mini (running on OS X Yosemite) and I connected them via USB, and then when I play music (from YouTube or Spotify) the sound blasted out. I always have to have my volume level less than 1 because it is that bad, even YouTube and Spotify have to be turned down. My speakers don't have a volume control on the speakers themselves so that isn't an issue.

Can anybody please help? Thank you.
