Hey guys,

I've been trying to connect my Yeti USB Microphone to my macbook pro (El Capitan 10.11.1) but it appears in the 'sounds' section of systems preferences for a few seconds and then disappears. It just appears and disconnects repeatedly.

I've swapped cables and tried different ports - it works fine on my Macbook Air so the issue is not with the microphone at all.

Does anyone have any idea whats going on here?

Thanks in advance!

There may be some drivers that you need. Visit the Yeti website or google 'Yeti microphone mac drivers'.

Thanks for your super fast reply!
Unfortunately there is no driver for Mac - it is plug and play.

When it's plugged in the light on it remains on.. It just keeps disconnecting from the sound settings.

You said you had tried different cords. I assume that the cords are fine. This could be a broken headphone port, but i doubt it. You could run an Apple Hardware Test, but I'm not sure if that tests the headphone port or not.

Are you on El Capitan?

Yeah I am on El Capitan.
It is a USB cord that runs from the Microphone into my Macbook Pro's USB port.

When i try it on my Macbook Air it works fine - but I need it to work on my Pro.

The Pro identifies it for a few seconds, then disconnects it, then identifies it again... I'm watching it happen in the INPUT section of Sounds.

No it is on Yosemite 10.10.3

Is there a way to downgrade my Macbook Pro if you think thats the issue?

OK so it seems there is no solution.. just wait for apple to create an update to fix it?

Not too sure about Apple coming up with the fix.
You could send Blue a message via their support page perhaps they will release an El Capitan driver.
As for buying a new mic, I couldn't say, I mean how much do you need to have a mic with your macbook pro? If you need one and are looking around be sure to check it works in El Capitan before you buy it. Google around, there is plenty of info about. Good luck.
