I am using a Windows formatted NTFS harddrive and placed a few videos on it using my Macbook.

With the Western Digital media player however, the videos didn't load. After some research on the internet the little information I could find seemed to suggest there might be a problem with my Paragon drivers? I have tried rectifiying this but to no avail.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Many thanks in advance...

I bought the WD TV Live as a christmas gift for my dad last year. We never got to play a single video correctly from an external hard drive. We tried 3 diffent models and none worked properly.

One time the video and audio were out of sync, another we couldn't select an alternate audio track, other times the image was all black and white. In short, we never ever got a flawless experience with that product. Even the Internet part (Youtube and other stuff) had quite some issues.

After a week of bad experience, I returned it and the guy at Best Buy told me that I was not the first person to return it. In fact, almost all their units came back for similar problems.

I bougth my father a PS3 and ever since, he's very happy and can play any files either over Wi-Fi or from an external hard drive. He also get to play blu-ray discs.

...but the PS3 is a much larger investment vs the WD players... and some of us already have a blue ray disc player...
