So I am trying out iStat Menus (downloaded the latest 6.71 from their website) and when I open the app, I click the play icon to display start it and it goes back to pause right away. I realized that maybe my menu had too many items so I removed a bunch but it still wasn't showing anything.

This is what my menu looks like right now:

Has anyone else run into an issue where iStat Menus just isn't working?

I'm on Macbook M1 Pro with Ventura 13.4

No problems for me. But try manually adding in what metrics you want to see - I think the default is fan and temp

If that doesn't work, try deleting and reinstalling - I have no issues with iStat Menus and have been a user since v.3

Good luck!

Thanks for responding, unfortunately no basic troubleshooting worked for me, restarted my computer, re-installed iStat Menus. I will just reach out to the devs to see what could be happening.

Also try clearing app data (manually or use an external app like cleanmymac x or sensei uninstaller). I had the same problem but after completely removing it and reinstalling it it worked. For me it was caused by force shutting down the windows server.
