Can it only hold half the capacity that it used to hold when it was new?

According to iStat, yes. How old is the battery, and when was it last calibrated?

It's almost been a year, and I've never calibrated... I don't think. I never knew you were supposed to calibrate

Calibrate it as soon as you can. The reported capacity will probably go up a good bit. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86284

Hmm from what I've read, I think I've done this a few times without the actual intent. I've had it charged and then taken off the power adapter, Then after I'm done using it I set it back on my desk and forget to connect the power adapter. Next morning I wake up and reconnect the power supply and it wakes up. I've done this a few times.... Did I do sumthin' wrong? Do I need to quit all programs?

Thanks for all the help! :)

Unless the battery was fully discharged- i.e. the computer went to sleep because it had to, it wasn't calibrated. It may have just gone to sleep because of the energy scheme.

I defenitely went to sleep cause it was discharged because I have azureus running and my computer never goes to sleep unless it has to (ie: completely discharged)

In that case it was indeed calibrated. Your battery simply isn't the best pick. However, I would try calibrating it again if it's been a few weeks.

Hmm I'm pretty sure this happened a few days ago. Oh well... I dont use it off the power all that often, and it's usually at home. Thanks for all the help :D
