I use iStat to monitor what is going on with my powerbook and have found it really useful thus far. The one problem I am running into though is that while I can clearly hear what has always sounded like my powerbook's fans running, iStat displays zero rpm for the fans. Now, I either have been incorrect all these years and confused my fans for an extremely loud hard drive or iStat is not picking up on the fan action for some reason.

Can someone advise please

well we are 1 for 2. iStat is saying the fans are at 0, but the temp is at 145 degrees F.

My PowerBook doesn't show anything for fan speeds either so it's likely that the fans don't report anything, unlike the MacBook and MacBook Pro.
