For me 30 years has flown by.
This was how my rig looked in 1983. And yes, that is a 'tape' drive aka Datasette. No 5 1/4" or 8" floppy for me. Long load times baby. Kids don't know how good they have it these days.

My first analog cell phone just like this one from 20 years ago. Had mine installed in a 1994 Mitsubishi Eclipse Turbo.

Yet it still has a subpar 1280x800 resolution from years ago...
It is a budget tablet
It's only $29 less than the original iPad mini was yet everyone bashed the mini for its bad display, how does this get a pass? At least the mini came out back last year when no other 7 or 8 inch had HD displays because the tech wasn't there. No excuse for this one.
That was a 40 GB hard drive--moving media. A slow one at that. As in, susceptible to damage from shock and slower than crap. It also was a small capacity in 2006 for a Windows XP machine.I like the storage being 40 GB on the SS. What happened to those type of numbers and going down to 32 GB?
To be fair, I think the iPad really needs to be put up there instead of the dell. I mean, tablets were a niche market before the iPad. Sure, the original was laughed at but by the time the iPad 2 came around, it really changed everyone's views on what a tablet can do. By the time the iPad 3 came along, it was already beginning to replace computers for everyday consumers.
The fact that Apple catalyzed this change in such a short period of time is astonishing. I'm just impressed with "think different".

I can beat that. I have actually programmed in FORTRAN using punch cards. Ouch.

Both of these tablets run x86 processors and full desktop operating systems thats why they're there. It would be a bad comparison to compare an ARM tablet.
I find it kind of funny that people seem to be getting upset over the fact that Windows tablets are the ones in the graphic.
I think the point is the price he is showing along with the specs.
Not to mention, the Mini with Retina is thinner, lighter, smaller, has a bigger battery, and a much sharper screen. Much more impressive hardware than the Dell, and the software helped make tablets a viable alternative.

With that answer, no...i dont think you got the point. Who cares what is more iconic? I dont have any Dell products of all they make and i recognize the name and recognize that is a tablet and recognize the specs listed along w/ the price difference.I get the point. I just think that iPad better represents the point as it is more iconic than that Dell, most of us probably don't recognize.
