Gosh...I must have stepped on one of the cult's holier than holies!

It's only a computer, boys. I have two mac computers. I paid the price to poke fun at apple.

Not a good way to make friends here when you're a newbie. You created the thread, you have to expect mixed responses. Some you'll like, some you won't but don't fire back, especially with that type of reply, it only makes you look worse. :p

Awwww... come on, everyone. Why so serious?

The OP didn't have me rolling in the aisles, but it's hardly something deserving of such a snooty reaction. And let's not pretend that Apple haven't dropped the ball with these screens; they most certainly have.

The one comment I would make is that there are a number of members around here suffering with one of these screens, or finding the delivery of their iMacs have been delayed because of this issue. These folks can be excused not having a sense of humour about it...!

Well, I am one of those people, and I've been waiting for 3 weeks so far for my i7. The OP called the other poster a member of a cult, that's not nice and I'm surprised you backed him up and jumped on others here.

I wish he had titled the thread (humor) It is not true... to save me from ever having clicked on it.

Better yet, post comedy routines to the General Discussion forum as they really don't belong here.

Well, if you're "one of those people", as I've already said, I don't expect you to have a sense of humour about it. I wouldn't, if it were me.

But, please, "member of a cult"? It was clearly a throwaway comment, rather than a personal attack. With all due respect, I think you've read that excessively seriously. Which was the core of my previous post. And I haven't "jumped on" anyone.

Let's not fall out over this. It'd be stupid.

In the interests of keeping the peace, I'm happy to apologise to anybody who felt that I overstepped the mark. I was only trying to keep the mood of this thread light, as I'm sure had been the intention of the OP from outset. I'm certain that causing offence was never on his mind.

Gee, I've been here for more than a year...when do I lose my "newbie" status?

I like Apple's macs...but I don't think the products or the company are deserving of the sort of "We'll follow you into the valley of death" fandom many shower upon them. They're just computers. They have their good points and some really annoying bad points, just like every other factory-made desktop or laptop computer.

...that the company manufacturing accelerator pedal assemblies for Toyota also manufactured and assembled the screens and cables on certain new iMacs.

:p

So we can't expect a massive recall as well, I am afraid!

I'm quite sure you never said anything worthy of an apology. :D You're obviously entitled to your opinions.

As for the OP, I don't know that you could call it offensive to make a provocative thread title like "It's not true..." just to set up a punchline in a user help forum, but I do think it's annoying. Then again, noone forces me to click on these threads. I take the bait everytime when I see a title like this, against my better judgement.
