I received an email today from a friends real hotmail address saying he was standed overseas and needed money wired over (by Western Union) as he had lost everything.
The email was poorly worded and an obvious scam but I replied to warn him and then I had an email back saying no it's really me, send money now..
I phoned the guy in question and lots of people had contacted him saying the same thing.
OK a scam but a guy at work knew of someone else also with a hotmail account had the same experience. The nscary thing is that the scammer has hijacked these hotmail email addresses and is replying and receiving emails not intended for them. Juts what can be found in somones hotmail account is really scary-just hope my friend hasn't emailed any banking info or anything sensitive.
