I had this same problem on a 3G I had JB'd with PwnageTool when I went into expert mode and did some custom settings. Then used Blackra1n and I was able to access, About.

This was on a blackra1ned 3.0 3Gs. I since upgraded to 3.1.2 and all seems fine. Thanks for the reply!
