Lately, I've noticed that it is taking a lot longer to install programs in windows xp via boot camp. When I pull up task manager, I see that only one core is being taxed to 50-100% while the other is hardly used. All the while, the computer is slow as bawls and the installation itself is slower than molasses. I'm using xp pro sp3 via bootcamp on a 2.33 duocore mbp. any ideas?

The installer probably isn't multithreaded. If a program isn't programmed to use both cores, then it won't...

but its weird because I don't remember it going so slowly before (I'm reinstalling the program). plus I haven't really made any major software changes since the first time I installed it. but that would explain why only one core is registering so high
