The iPad is a great platform for VNC and remote administration. There are a few highly regarded VNC apps on the iPad, but I owned iTeleport for the iPhone and didn't want to pay another $25 for the iPad version. They did say that a free upgrade from the iPhone version was forthcoming (if you read the page instead of just buying the iPad version) and last night it was updated.

iTeleport for iPhone is now universal and works with the iPad!

Best VNC app out there, IMO.

Edit: Whoops, fixed title! :D

LOL I think you meant 'now' for your post title and not 'not'

Woohoo! Thanks for sharing this news. I have been on the fence about purchasing iTeleport due to the high price and it's non-universal status. I actually emailed the developer a couple weeks ago asking that it be sold as a universal app. I'm hopping over to get it right now.

I actually got this for the iPhone when it first came out, it was $4.99 for one day only, so I picked it up. Never ever used it, didn't even set it up. Now with the iPad version out I finally set up the old one on my iPad which did not look that good at 2x but will be upgrading to the universal now that it is out.

this has been around for weeks!

No, iTeleport for iPad has been a separate product for weeks. iTeleport for iPhone was just upgraded to a Universal app last night.

And for the person saying $25 for a VNC client is too much, I partially agree with you until I saw how much iTeleport saved my ass. That, and there seems to be boatloads of people paying $30 for LogMeIn, and that doesn't even support the open VNC protocol.

I have a free VNC client that I downloaded for the iPhone, works just fine. Charging $25 is just flat out silly.

Developers are generally way over charging for iPad apps.

I actually got this App for free on iPhone when it was called Jaadu VNC. Finally they released a universal app. Free for iPad for me as well.
