Apple's much-hyped touchscreen iPhone is about to make its debut. With a 3.5 inch screen size, an onscreen Qwerty keyboard and clever finger recognition, does the new super-slim smartphone press all the right buttons?

Just two weeks remain before the US launch of Apple’s iPhone.

Part- mobile, part-iPod, it has a touchscreen that’s set to sweep away memories of tapping furiously at unresponsive old Palm Pilots – and it looks delicious. But does it live up to the hype?

Why did they complain about 4GB and didn't mention the 8GB? They listed the price as $500, ignoring the $600 8GB model. Other than that, I think I'll agree with them on everything else. The lack of 3G and poor 2MP camera is certainly dissapointing, but I think the phone's other features make up for them. I'm not too sad about the lack of 3G, but I really wanted more megapixels, especially when sony ericsson and nokia have phones with 5MP.

i know its still probably going to suck, but more megapixels doesn't necessarily mean better quality. cramming a higher megapixel sensor into a small crappy lens, doesn't help quality. nokia's phones however do have pretty damn good cams (especially the N95). Hopefully we'll be surprised by quality over quantity.

and how does this total jackass know what the keyboard is like or for that matter how good the 2MP cam is. he is just writing an article based off of internet speculation or his own concerns without ever having actually used one. why bother writing a review of something you've never used. and why would any of you guys bother to speculate even more based on this worthless article. wait for walt or someone who actually has an iphone to review it.

Eh, it's more a preview. A useless one at that since it's restating what's already known (or in the keyboard sense, speculated). Should've just just waited 2 weeks for a full review.

cmschmidt, do you know how much zoom the camera lens has on the iPhone?

Yeah, it's kind of weird that they never mentioned it. Safe to assume it's not very impressive? :p

iono. the isight camera in macbooks is pretty decent for a tiny camera, so maybe apple will be able to put a decent one in the iPhone.
