I'm curious if any of the early adopters have seen if Catalina issues are being addressed.

The "macOS Catalina" marque thread on MacRumors home page is not a confidence builder.

I didn't feel like being on Catalina for long so I don't know how it is at this point in the later releases. I stuck to Mojave and only very briefly booted Catalina to run my software and see it all still worked and then back again.
But even from day 1 of the very first developer beta, I've been using Big Sur as my daily use OS. I expected to just install it for software development but I never felt the need to boot back into Mojave. There are a few bugs still in the beta of course, but most are minor that you can very, very easily work around without really thinking about it and seem like they will be fixed :)

catalina was great, for me. and since different users have, often, different experiences, you might want to be specific: which issues are you experiencing? otherwise, there's no one answer to this...

That's also true. Catalina might even be fine for me at this point in spite of my earlier comment, since my main issue with the first release of Catalina was 32-bit support being dropped, but I no longer rely on that daily, so Big Sur is working for me, but Catalina might as well

am curious tho about the OP, what they're experiencing...

I'm not using Catalina. It's been getting a thrashing in its forum more so than High Sierra and Mojave.

--> So my question is more specifically aimed at those who have had issues with Catalina and found that those issues have been resolved in Big Sur.

Regards

i had no issues in catalina before moving to big sur. but if you look thru these forums, every version of the OS has people who report issues.

so it's a question that has no one answer. meanwhile, if you're gonna dive into big sur, prepare a backup of your current OS... in case you specifically encounter issues.

seems you should be asking about ppl migrating from your current OS? just a thought...

How about rendering projects in FCPX? With macOS Catalina on my MacBook Pro 2018 It seems to throttle down More and does not use all of the GPU either. Also, seems to run hotter at times with some general usage (Fans go on when it did not before.

With my Mac Pro 2013, rendering issuescwith not using all of the graphics or CPU. Runs a little better, but I use them for video editing and need the power, but it looks like MacOS Catalina cuts on the power overall.

Anyone notice this And Big Sur is better?
