OK, so we now have the iMac announcement and mini updates out of the way, this leaves the room and the spotlight solely on Steve's upcoming "It's showtime" satellite special media event. iTunes Media Store with downloadable movies are almost certain, no? A video iPod and iPod updates (goodbye shuffle?) seem likely. A device so tha you can wirelessly stream movies from your computer to your TV seems a good bet as well.
But there's soemthing else coming in Paris, I'm betting. And it's something that, living in Waterloo, I've had a feeling about all along.
RIM's new Blackberry model, code-named around the RIM office "Pearl" (remarkably like the finish on Apple's iMac's no?) is finally being unveiled at an event ... next Tuesday!!!! According to newspaper articles here in town the "Pearl" can play music and other forms of media and is a revolutionary new step in the evolution of the ever-popular Blackberry.
Coincidence? Hardly.
If I was a betting man who had some money for shares, I'd be scopping up Research in Motion and Apple as fast as I could. Apple + Blackberry = immense market and mind share for both companies.
Discuss.
