OK, so we now have the iMac announcement and mini updates out of the way, this leaves the room and the spotlight solely on Steve's upcoming "It's showtime" satellite special media event. iTunes Media Store with downloadable movies are almost certain, no? A video iPod and iPod updates (goodbye shuffle?) seem likely. A device so tha you can wirelessly stream movies from your computer to your TV seems a good bet as well.

But there's soemthing else coming in Paris, I'm betting. And it's something that, living in Waterloo, I've had a feeling about all along.

RIM's new Blackberry model, code-named around the RIM office "Pearl" (remarkably like the finish on Apple's iMac's no?) is finally being unveiled at an event ... next Tuesday!!!! According to newspaper articles here in town the "Pearl" can play music and other forms of media and is a revolutionary new step in the evolution of the ever-popular Blackberry.

Coincidence? Hardly.

If I was a betting man who had some money for shares, I'd be scopping up Research in Motion and Apple as fast as I could. Apple + Blackberry = immense market and mind share for both companies.

Discuss.

I'd be more then happy to see that. It's good to see Canadian business excel when they have a premium product. If they were to team with Apple we'd be getting the best of the best. Only problem is that the Blackberry is catered to the business person having large monthly costs that most cannot afford. At least that's been my experience.

It's a very interesting idea and a nice job of piecing parts together, but I doubt it'll happen. (Apple, prove me wrong)

Stop The Stupid Bs Rumors People!!!!

OK, STOP the rumors. These two are COMPLETELY UNRELATED...

A) The Blackberry Pearl has NO WI-FI and T-Mobile only has EDGE, which is NOT fast enough to download over the air.

B) With a title like "SHOWTIME" they wouldn't launch a video download service for a mobile phone with a 1.5 inch screen.

READ the information on the devices before you go spreading rumors. Apply logic and not emotion when evaluating a story.

Woah, tomorrow The Office Season 2 comes out on DVD... ooooh, maybe it's an Apple Special Edition of the Office Season 2 and will include a free Laptop cause a laptop could be made by apple and coule be found in The Office... people, wake up and stop fantasizing.
