UGH.. anyone else with me on this one?
I'm sure that will be a quick fix as it works fine on macs
It does?
I have a Mac and it doesn't charge my iPad...
If you have a sufficiently new Mac it will (using a port on the Mac itself).
I have a black Macbook, I guess that doesn't count as "sufficiently new"

IMHO the stellar battery-life, makes up for this slight disappointment.
So maybe it won't be a quick fix. That being said even charging with high-power USB it takes twice as long as by AC.
Did you not read any of this post?huh? Of course you can charge it thru a USB. You are probably trying to plug it in thru your keyboard. That port isnt powerful enough, you need to plug it into the back of your imac. Works fine on my Macbok too.
mbell75 is right. The iPad requires more juice, so you have to plug it directly to the computer for it to charge. Plugging it into an usb hub and even a powered usb hub will not charge the iPad.
The original poster has a black Macbook.
