..hello "little computer" people
..
..after reading some threads around here, i have to point out THAT WinXP Sp2
..runs very fast on a MacMini, even on the lower-end machine CoreSolo 1,5 !
..
..am i doing something wrong ? ..since i'm used to work with PC Notebooks of
..the Intel P4 2ghz class and also got a not so descent PC Athlon Tower which
..served me well over time, THE "lamelowend" Mini ist faster than all of them !
..
..quite a surprise for me AND not what i expected (after using a MacBook with
..double the cpu power, tripple the price and 4times the memory). Everybody
..seemed to put down the solo cpu, i'm happy that i did the experience. That's
..no praise of the machine etc, that's reality /on crunching audio applications
..
..Okay, using just the system so far does not say much ..even the mac side
..seemed slow (that did seem slow on the macbook 2ghz, 2gb) ..BUT pro audio
..applications on the MacMini (Bootcamp XP) work quick and faster than ever.
..
..EVEN ..i can't hear the hard drive at all ..even when defragmening. Booting
..and shutdown is very quick on the internal drive (indeed). USB2 is also very
..quick, SO IS the ethernet 1000 connection ..that's worth half the computer
..
..
..Overall good and stylisch CD-Rom Drive, but where is the computer gone ?
..
.."..'nough said, let's get back to the program" //Gangstar

Up, up in my studio, studio
Pro audio app, you say? Which one, may I ask?

I use Cakewalk SONAR 5 on my Athlon 64-based peecee, and was wondering how well it fares when run under Bootcamp. If it runs as well as you say yours does, that'll make me get a Mac even quicker.

Wow a Core Solo faster than a crappy old (crippled) P4 2GHz (all P4's before the 2.4 are crippled with slow memory) and an Athlon. Oh my god... i thought computers these days were slower!

Who'd a thunk it eh! :D
