So iTunes was updated for OS X (El Cap) to 12.2.2. I know that if already jailbroken, it won't affect anything. But, if I update it, will/may it inhibit a future jailbreak especially considering iOS 9 is right around the corner?

Thoughts?

iTunes itself cannot inhibit a jailbreak. A jailbreak simply uses the function that iTunes has to communicate with the phone.

If and when iOS 9 is jailbroken, the people who do this will in all likelihood be using a version of iTunes that is newer than the update you just mentioned so I don't think it's anything to worry over.

ok, thanks. Just making sure because TaiG needed an older version of iTunes but I just wasn't sure why. Anyway, thanks

Yes, it did, but that was a communication with the iPhone issue, not because iTunes was blocking the jailbreak.
