Hope this is the right forum for this question.

I'm an American with an American iTunes account. Right now, I'm in Canada. If I purchase an iTunes gift card up here in Canada, would my account be credited at face value in American dollars or would it be credited in American after Canadian conversion?

Isn't this stupid. People move about all the time in this day and age, yet Apple accounts (and re-downloading your account content, I presume) are glued to the country they originate in.

Annoying-for-users backdoor DRM-esque control here by Apple, through their Apple ID system, instead of the previous in-file system they removed (at least for music).
