iTunes 11 enables Airplay in Mac Pro 2008 (3,1)

Does anyone know how Airplay works on the Mac Pro 3,1 when itunes 11 is installed. I was under the impression that the chipset didn't allow this? I almost gave up on my old Mac Pro!

You mean streaming from iTunes or the OS X "stream all audio from computer" functionality?

I can stream movies wirelessly from my Mac Pro 3,1 to my apple TV with the new iTunes 11. I just want to know why we were told before that the chip set didn't allow airplay on the old Mac Pros

Pretty sure that was in regards to display mirroring, which NO Mac Pros can do.
