As the title says, I'm using iTunes 12.1 on OS X Yosemite (10.10.2) and, quite often, music will begin skipping during playback. Most of the search results I found were either people experiencing the issue with versions of iTunes 11 and earlier, along with Windows users. Also, all of my tracks are stored locally, so it's not like it's an issue with streaming. Sometimes songs will also stop if skipping entirely.

Are there somehow CDs in my computer? haha

I'm also using a Retina MacBook Pro with 8GB of RAM, so clearly hardware limitations are not imposing this issue.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Yep, I get this too. Early 2011 MBP with latest everything, using a USB headset.

Edit: I forgot to say that it happens in YouTube too.

Have you checked if there is any corruption in the files? Just double check them in another player.

Problem with your headset then? Does it skip when playing through your speakers?

If I rewind and play the same segment again then it'll be fine, so the files themselves are presumably OK.

Problem with your headset then?

I use the same headset with non-Apple computers and haven't had the issue.

Does it skip when playing through your speakers?

Unknown. Occurrences of the issue are typically hours apart so for obvious reasons I don't want to blast music out the speakers all day :)

iTunes skipping a cross-platform problem?

I have the same skipping/hiccup problem with iTunes 12.1.0.50 on my mid-2010 MacBook Pro running OSX 10.10.2 with 8GB RAM. The audio files are not corrupted...if I rewind and play, the skipping in that part of the audio is gone. This problem has been widely reported by iTunes for Windows users as well, so the problem appears to be cross-platform. Can't believe Apple released this software...very poor QC.
