After a beta update, iTunes is updated to 12.6, and...

I CANNOT batch change metadata at all.

What's worse, running iTunes 12.5.4 seems not that possible without tons of changes.

Anyone notice the same problem?

Which build of iTunes 12.6? Mine has been updated twice this week.

iTunes>About iTunes

So that's what those double updates are about!

Update iTunes again!, I can do it now.

What are the symptoms? I have the second version and batch updates seem to work correctly.
When you try to update field value of multiple items, the value does not update even after multiple retries. For example, you want to set a few songs to the same album, but you could not do it by selecting all and apply new album name. You could only change it one by one.

I can confirm this is still not working on 12.6.0.100... Drives me crazy as I need to batch edit imported mp3s several times a day!

It could be related to the invalid ID3 tag process change in 12.6: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7900430?start=0&tstart=0
I just sent feedback to Apple, hopefully it will be fixed before christmas.

Tch....
This is the worst update ever!
What's worse, I cannot revert to any previous version!
Bad Apple.

Is the symptom limited to mp3's? If so, what ID3 version are they? IIRC iTunes can have problems with v2.4 so changing to ID3 v2.3 may correct this. You used to be able to change ID3 versions right from within iTunes, not sure if that is still possible.

Just tried AAC and Mp3 (both ID3 v2.4 and v2.3) and all without exception are affected.
10.12.4 update didn't change anything.
