Ok I am a slacker and finally upgraded to OSX. My iTunes 2 in OS 9 had numerous playlists. I seem to be unable to import these into iTunes 4.

Is this possible? I also noticed that since I moved my OS 9 folder to another HD when I open iTunes in Classic all the playlists and music is gone. When I relink the music all my playlists are still not there.

Do playlists get stored in the Library document and can I import this info?

I would be very sad to lose so many playlists. I seriously have 30 or 40 custom lists.

cheers!

ah the answer

Thankfully I backed up my iTunes2 Library document before I upgraded. Otherwise it would have beem rendered useless.

I brought that into where the iTunes 4 Library document is located and renamed the iTunes 2 Library an iTunes 4 Library and deleted the iTunes 4 one.

Voila! My playlists reappeared. Now since my files were all AIFF's I now have to relink to the AAC's I have created. This is time-consuming but not as bad as losing all my playlists!

I am much happier now.
